General Intelligence Assessment
Many businesses, ourselves included, see recruitment as a key activity to ensure a good team fit as well as appropriate skills and knowledge levels for the job. This can prove to be a pretty steep mountain to climb, and many mistakes can be made along the way!

CVs can give a good indication of past endeavours but provide only limited guidance on how a person truly behaves in the workplace, how quickly they incorporate new information, problem solve, analyse situations, understand key information or work alongside others.

Preferences and aptitudes can be two very distinct things. We may love working with numbers but have poor numeracy skills, hate presenting but be regarded a confident presenter by others.

For a better understanding of preference working styles please have a look at our Colourwise work and DISC profiling.

For a better understanding of aptitudes look no further than the GIA. The GIA is a 20 minute online intelligence test which gives a clear indication of key strengths and abilities. The test divides into 5 key areas;

  • Reasoning - A high score indicates an ability to make inferences easily, draw effective conclusions, hold information in short term memory with fluent verbal reasoning.
  • Perceptual speed - A high score indicates ability to comprehend large numbers of words which is ideal in environments or roles where lots of written information is used and where it is critical to assimilate new information quickly.
  • Number speed and accuracy – A high score indicates an ability to work with quantitative concepts and numerical applications.
  • Word meaning – A high score indicates good word knowledge and vocabulary.
  • Spatial awareness – A high score indicates an ability to manipulate and create mental images, excellent for design where visualisation is needed.

We have used this tool ourselves when recruiting into Jaluch and we found it invaluable in assessing general intelligence.

For more details of how this could be used to get the right people into your team, talk to us.
