 Nigel Brain
As a solicitor Nigel specialised in employment law. He left private practice about ten years ago to set up his own business specialising in employment law and strategic HR matters. Despite having a distinction from Law School and a Masters Degree in Law, Nigel regards himself very much as a practitioner rather than an academic.
Specialisms: Employment Law and tribunal work. Nigel has had conduct of over 400 employment tribunal cases in his career.
Strengths: Finding commercially sensible solutions to challenging employee relation issues including employment tribunals.
Interests: Triathlons, motor racing, food and wine (not necessarily in that order and definitely not all at once)
Favourite phrase: “Run your own race”
Oh and don't tell anyone but... Nigel hopes to appear in every employment tribunal in England and Wales before he retires (which he is not aware of anyone else ever doing and there are only 3 out of 24 to go!)

Nigel is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and is happy to support with both contentious and non-contentious matters. He has also appeared before the Employment Appeal Tribunal on a number of occasions. For particularly difficult or complex matters Nigel is licensed by the Bar Council to instruct Counsel.
As well as pure employment law work Nigel assists companies in unusual and difficult situations including; restructurings, redundancy programmes, outsourcing, TUPE transfers and offshoring.
