Term Time Only Contract
This type of contract can be issued to staff who are not able to work during school holidays. Typically, salary and benefits (including holiday) are pro rated according to the total number of weeks that will be worked over the year and then a monthly salary is paid irrespective of whether whole or part of that month has been worked. These contracts are popular with staff who are given them, but not always so popular with their colleagues who have to deal with the peaks and troughs of work that result.

In any term time only contract there should be absolute clarity about how the annual teacher training days (TD Days or equivalent) should be dealt with and the process for reviewing the contract should the employee find they have different children in different schools with different holidays, as this is a scenario which can easily happen where staff members live near a county border.
