Trade Union Representatives |
These are officials of independent unions. Some representatives are full time officials who get involved with numerous employers as and when required. However others are appointed as part time union representatives in their own workplace and they therefore continue to carry out their normal duties for the employer when not carrying out their representative duties.
Workplace representatives have statutory rights to time off for training, carrying out their representative duties and for example to accompany another worker at internal disciplinary and grievance hearings.
