Red Circling

This is the practice of protecting the pay of an individual whose job has been downgraded following for example a re-structure of the organisation or an equal pay review. It means that rather than experiencing a loss of pay the individual's pay is frozen until such time as their existing salary is in line with the new pay arrangements.
